Eternal Slumber

I came home from school,

And knocked on the door,

Nobody opened it,

Except me,

With the emergency key,

Mum was sleeping,

Upstairs,

Unnoticed,

Unheard.

I ate some lunch,

And read a book,

Mum was sleeping,

Upstairs.

Father came home,

And we ate dinner,

Mum was sleeping

Upstairs.

I did my homework,

And took a shower,

Mum was sleeping,

Upstairs.

And she still is.

Only now,

She’s underground,

Unnoticed.

Unheard.
